Our office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am-9:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am-3:00 pm.
How do I apply?
You can apply for admission by clicking apply on the home page or you can come to our offices located at 4042 Indiana Avenue Kansas City, MO 64128 during office hours and fill out a paper application.
What do I need to apply?
In order to apply for admission to Workforce Preparatory Technical Center (WPTC) you must be 17 years or older and provide the following items: a valid driver's license or state id, social security card, and proof of selective service registration.
Can apply if I don't live in Missouri?
Yes, anyone can apply. Transportation is the responsibility of the student. If you have reliable transportation to get you to and from your place of residence you can apply to the Center.
Who do I call if I will miss class?
All students are required to contact the admissions office to report an absence. All absences not accompanied with verifiable explanations will be considered unexcused absences.
How long are the classes?
WPTC classes range from 6 weeks to 20 weeks in length. We provide short-term training for long-term success.
Do you have a work study program?
For those students who have difficulty paying or securing funding for their training may apply for our work study program Those individuals approved for work study will have an enhanced schedule.
Why do I have to do community service?
Community Service is a requirement for enrollment in WPTC classes. Our commitment to our community is a priority and is a shared responsibility of our students.
What if I don't have my transcripts?
Depending on your school, we can help you request transcripts. Our admissions staff can assist you with getting the documentation you need for enrollment.
Can I receive CE credit or transfer credits to or from another institution?
We currently do not provide CE credit or accept or transfer credits completed through our programs.
Are there any programs to help pay for my education?
WPTC partners with local area agencies who provide financial aid for students searching for short-term training. Please talk with your admissions counselor for more information on how to apply.
